Photo Gallery 2 - Sources of Stormwater

All photos in this series were taken August 28, 2006 during a gentle rainfall event.  This series shows the source and the path of stormwater flow.

The storm water is missing the storm drains inside the complex and flowing to the entrance.

The height of the roads in the complex is 13 ft higher than the level of the entrance, creating natural drainage to the front.

bullet

There are 2 curb drains at the entrance that flows from the east side to the west side and then discharges to the pipe under the road.

bullet

There are 2 round storm drains with leaching basins in the entrance.  However, these drains are connected to the pipe under the road.

bullet

Stormwater that flows past the drains goes past the curbs and into the basin which discharges into the pipe under the road.

bullet

All water that flows into the pipe under the road is discharged onto our property.

The discharge of stormwater is causing severe erosion and flooding.  There should not be any water that flows through the pipe.  This water should be routed to the stormwater basin in the complex.

Stormwater source is inside the complex.

This photo of the east side of the entrance shows the stream water coming out of the complex. This water is collected in storm drains and discharged into the pipe under the road, causing erosion and flooding on our property.

The circle is shows the water stream coming from the complex.

The west side of the entrance.

The photo shows the stormwater flowing from the complex into the road.

The close circle outlines the water that is streaming out of the entrance.

The small circle shows water flowing at the crossroads in the complex.

Looking toward the east across the entrance.

The line of water flows into the storm drains.

A close-up looking east.

The water comes out of the complex and forms a stream along the side of the road. This empties into 2 round storm drains that discharge to the pipe under the road.

The circle shows extra pooling in the area where streams from inside the complex are pouring into the road.

Water flowing from the complex is flowing into the storm drains.

The leaves in the center lane are undisturbed because the excess flow is from the complex.

Some water that flows past the curbs and drains.

This flows to the pipe under the road. The opening is located in the tall weeds.

The mouth of the pipe that empties water onto our property.

The stormwater from the pipe rushes past the plastic barrier splits into 2 streams that cause erosion.

This water comes from the pipe under the road.

The two streams of erosion meet. Stormwater is from the pipe under the road.

This photo shows how fast the water flows.

This presents a dangerous situation.

Tree roots exposed by erosion due to the stormwater.

We can't keep up with backfilling soil because it erodes away too quickly.

Flooding in our yard. The fence is 4 ft tall.
